After an uneventful drive on Wednesday, we arrived in Bozeman, Montana.  A surprisingly delightful town.  Laid out in a grid pattern which made it easy to explore.  Bozeman is also a college town with lots of college age kids everywhere.  Our campground is fine and we arrived with only a two day reservation.  I made the reservations months ago and left an extra day of travel from Bozeman to Yellowstone as snow could have been a problem.  Now we find ourselves in a travel dilemma.  The campground in Bozeman only has a reservation for two days and we aren't scheduled for Yellowstone until Saturday.  The campground is sold out because of the annual softball tournament.  A fund raiser for the town.  We would have had to leave this campground and look for a Bureau of Land Management space, if available.  At the last minute, there was a cancellation and the camp host has an extra day for us.  So today instead of traveling to find ano...

Got up late this morning.  Did not sleep well last night, and so we got up and ready and left at 10 A.M.  North thru Washington, east thru Idaho and then finally Montana.  As we drove we passed many different types of terrain.  Finally as we were nearing Idaho, the trees started to appear.  Whole forests of greenery.  Quite appealing.  While driving we called our younger son who we hadn't heard from in a while.  Seems he was on a retreat with Outward Bound in Mid Pines Calif.  We were both whizzing along on the freeways.  Amazing technology.  But then technology let us down.  As we were heading into the mountains, we lost the signal.  About an hour later as we were on the last 30 miles to our stop for the nite in St. Regis, Montana, we got a signal again.    We arrived at a quaint campground and checked in and got to our site.  Then we reconnected with Russ and completed our conversation. Here is a pictu...

On the road again.  We returned from our trip to Santa Fe and kind of collapsed.  Unloaded the trailer, washed lots of clothes, and even gave the trailer a bath.  Looks really good. Being gluttons for punishment, we have since put the clothes back in the trailer, re stocked the refrigerator and freezer and have again set off on another adventure. This morning we headed out towards Richland, Washington for a one night stand.  Our final destination is Yellowstone National Park. The last time we were there was with the boys about 30 years ago.  I'm sure not much has changed in the park, although I wish I could say the same for ourselves.  Age has had its way with us.  But we're still camping.
