Day 10 05/11/18 Headed off to Hell's Gate Air tram. A 40 minute drive to a gondola suspended over the Frazier River. Scary to contemplate but I guess it is safe. As we arrived the parking lot was empty. What tha?? Turns out that is closed indefinitely for repairs. Glad we were told before hand. Now back to Hope? Not much else to do. Headed to Hope and ate at the Blue Moose Cafe. We were beaten in the door by a full busload of tourists from Europe on a cheap holiday in Canada. Waited about 30 minutes for our sandwiches and Gracie sat and watched. We have walked her little legs off. Far more walking then she usually does at home Still a little trooper. Trotted over to Buy-Low Foods for a chicken for dinner. Back to the trailer and watched a 40' motor home with a car attached behind, park next to us. Seems that is a couple our age from Colorado who a year ago, retired sold everything and are now full timing in their motor home. They do have a washer and dryer for those who are concerned. They are heading to Alaska and parts unknown.
There happens to be a waterfall on the mountain right behind our campground. Thought I could load a picture but evidently not so. Between Verizon and T-Mobile internet is a real problem. Although I paid for excess content they forgot to tell me that once I hit .5 GB that is the limit per day because of the other country. What B.S. In any event we are doing the best we can with truly lousy internet coverage.
On another note, we have Sirrus Radio and what a pleasure that has been. In these parts it is only either country/western music which I abhor or no stations at all. With the satellite radio we can listen to Sinatra or CNN non stop. The trailer however is no tv, no radio, no internet, or nearly so. Never in a million years would I have thought about plugging pay radio, but it has been a sanity saver. We have been staying two days at each stop. May not be much to see, but certainly is easier on this old body. Can't drive those 8 hour drives when I was a tad bit younger. Oh well. Tomorrow we head out to Clearwater which is halfway to Jasper National Park. 'Till tomorrow.
