Day 3 5/4/18 Woke up this morning to another nice day. Sun is shining and low 60's. Got ourselves together and headed to Stanley Park. A huge waterfront park with huge cargo ships moored awaiting unloading at the docks. Walked around the park circumference for a bit. Gracie walked for a bit and then was all in. We have a daypack which is for small dogs, which I put on and put Gracie inside. I hope to have some pics of same.
We had also been told that Vancouver has some of the best Indian restaurants other than India. While we were dining at Subway before entering Canada a very nice Indian gentlemen, his wife and I assume his mother-in-law stopped in their Mercedes and promptly had a Starbucks which was adjacent to our Subway. On the way out I asked if he was from Vancouver as he had Canadian plates on his car. He was and then I asked for any recommendations for an Indian restaurant. He lit up and proceeded to tell me of a great place that he recommended highly. Their is a section adjacent to Vancouver called Surrey. We proceeded there after spending some time in Stanley Park. Never having been to India we were in for a cultural shock. Surrey it seems is the center for all of the Indian emigres. It seems the whole town is populated by Indians. Almost every male of age had a turbin complete with a full beard. At the bus stops, walking, or driving it seems we were one of very few Caucasians. The mall's were chock a block with many tiny stores with gold jewelry, wedding dresses and restaurants. Wow. So many stores. We stopped at Maharajah and I went in to order. We ordered a few items and then walked around the plaza as they were preparing our chicken tika masala, palak paneer, and of course garlic nan. A feast. We had them pack it as we had Gracie and she can't eat at a table yet. Forty five minutes on the freeway and we were back at the campsite. It was about 2:30 and we were famished. It was truly one of the best Indian meals we have had. After lunch it was nap time for me and Sue and Gracie walked around the campground.
